Online Desk: A court in Dhaka fixed April 30 for holding hearing on charge framing in two cases, one for observing fake birthday on National Mourning Day and another for stigmatizing the War of Liberation, lodged against BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia.

Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Muhammad Asaduzzaman Noor passed the order on Wednesday (April 5).

Earlier, Khaleda Zia’s lawyard Masud Ahmed Talukdar pleaded for time citing Khaleda’s poor health condition.

On August 30, 2016, Gazi Jahirul Islam, joint general secretary of Dhaka Journalist Union, lodged the case against Khaleda for celebrating fake birthday.

Jananetri Parishad President AB Siddiqui filed the other case on November 3, 2016, against Khaleda Zia and her late husband Ziaur Rahman for stigmatizing the War of Liberation by rehabilitating anti-Liberation War forces.
