Online Desk: NBR Chairman Abu Hena Mohammad Rahmatul Muneem has urged everyone to come forward for social integration of the transgender community.
In this regard, he said Fair Group has set an extraordinary example in corporate initiatives by employing a good number of transgenders.
The Senior Secretary, IRD and Chairman NBR Muneem, was speaking as the chief guest at a CSR meeting titled “Social Inclusion of Transgender Community” at Tejgaon on Saturday (April 15). Fair Group Chairman Ruhul Alam Al Mahbub presided over the event, said a press release.
“We already employed more than 30 transgenders in different SBUs of our group. We have taken steps to increase this number. All these we are doing to ensure social inclusion of transgenders community,” said the. He also requested all private sector entrepreneurs to come up for this reason.
Additional IGP and Head of Tourist Police Habibur Rahman was present on the occasion as special guest. Referring to his own initiatives for the neglected transgender community, he said, great steps taken by Fair Group will create very positive impact on the society.
Prominent cultural personalities Shamim Ara Nipa, Sadia Islam Mou and Amitabh Reza Chowdhury addressed the event. They said it is everyone’s responsibility to integrate transgender community into the mainstream of our society. Public-private joint efforts should ensure their human life.
