Online Desk: Bangladesh Sanmilito Peshajibi Parishad (BSPP) leaders have pledged to make the BNP’s mass rally for Saturday (December 10) a success.
The BSPP leaders held demonstration at Jatiya Press Club premises in the capital on Friday (December 9) protesting the attack on BNP’s central office at Nayapaltan, killing and mass arrest of the BNP leaders and workers at Nayapaltan on Wednesday.
With Engineers Association of Bangladesh (EAB) president Reazul Islam Riju in the chair, the demonstration was addressed by Dhaka Union of Journalists (DUJ) president Kader Gani Chowdhury, Bangladesh Sanmilito Peshajibi Parishad convener Dr AZM Zahid Hossain, BNP Chairperson’s adviser Professor Farhad Ali Doner, Professor Dr Tajmeri Islam, DAB leader Rafiqul Islam, Dhaka University pro-BNP teachers’ organisation ‘White Panel’ convener Professor Dr Lutfar Rahman, Teachers Association of Bangladesh president Prof Dr ABM Obaidul Islam, DAB’s former president Professor Dr Azizul Huq, Zia Parishad president Abdul Quddus, former editor of the New Nation Mostfa Kamal Mazumder, and BSPP’s central leaders were present.
Speaking at the demonstration, Dr AZM Zahid Hossain said, “The government has been dally-dillying over the BNP’s mass rally in capital. They arrested our party secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and standing committee member Mirza Abbas in the darkness of night using the DB. We strongly condemn their arrest. We will make Saturday’s mass rally at Golapbagh a success despite we face arrest or repression.”
